The 8.79-carat opal takes on an irregular freeform shape, its shifting flashes of blue and green spreading broadly across the finger within a smooth platinum bezel. Surrounding it are 1.30 carats of round diamonds that form a radiant sunburst frame, softening the opal’s edges. A slim 3mm platinum band and relatively low 5mm top height keep the ring comfortable despite the wide face of the centerpiece.
