This exceptional Imperial Russian Faberge collectible Seal is crafted in the rare 88 silver standard and attributed to the workshop of Karl Faberge. H. Wigstrom one of the most celebrated master craftsmen of the House of Faberge. Formed in an elegant conical silhouette, the piece is richly decorated with vibrant green and pink enamel and crowned by a border of sparkling diamonds surrounding a striking cabochon dark red ruby at its apex. The remarkable combination of precious materials and intricate craftsmanship exemplifies the refined artistry of the Imperial Faberge workshops.
Henrik Wigström (1862–1923) succeeded Michael Perkhin as Faberge's chief workmaster in 1903 and remained in that position until the Russian Revolution in 1917. Working from St. Petersburg, he oversaw the production of many of the firm's most celebrated objects, including numerous Imperial commissions, hardstone carvings, cigarette cases, frames, decorative boxes, and many of the later Imperial Easter Eggs. His work is admired for its refined neoclassical influence, exceptional precision, and uncompromising quality, making pieces bearing his H.W. mark among the most sought after by collectors today.
