A breathtaking Art Deco estate brooch of remarkable gemstone composition and dramatic design. The upper center of this fan-shaped white gold brooch is commanded by a vivid oval black opal cabochon with a spectacular play-of-color in electric blue, green, and gold. Below it, a large oval deep blue sapphire cabochon adds rich, velvety depth. Four cushion-cut blue sapphires frame the opal at the cardinal positions, with additional sapphire accents nestled between the two main center stones. Throughout the openwork milgrain filigree body, rose-cut and old-mine cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.00 carat sparkle in white gold mountings. Geometric radiating wings flare symmetrically on either side, completing the brooch’s striking Art Deco silhouette. The reverse features a safety pin closure.
